On the 3rd Monday of each even month, officers, sections leaders, activity leaders, etc. meet at the Melbourne Library to plan the activities for the next two months. This must have been a well-kept secret because the planning group is usually small. More participation is needed. If you are interested in becoming more involved in Chapter activities, please attend the next planning meeting.

The Reserve staff has a project underway to raise the grade of some of the internal roads that were subject to flooding and closure. This should improve access to trail heads. A new interpretive trail is being constructed at the intersection of Powerline Road and St. Nicholas Road. This should be open before the end of the year. A project is underway to repaint blazes in colors designated in the recently signed contract with the State. The FNST route will be orange, alternate trails white, and connector trail yellow. This should be completed by the end of the year.
